Humans are among us? Apparently... Soon we won’t be able to tell because of the social media lens. I made this piece with a somewhat humorous undertone to highlight how social media is changing how we perceive ourselves, for better or worse. Our individuality has succumbed to the pressure that these platforms put on us to be something or someone we are not. In the direction we’re heading the future generations will struggle even more with knowing who they are, feeling lost and possibly having a crisis of self-image. Anything we feel now in regard to social media, unless we massively change, will only get worse. There is no ideal for how we should look, where is the fun in all of us looking the same? We’ll alienate ourselves to what makes us human. The future is almost unknown but what we do know is we want to be in it… We might as well accept who we are if we’re going to be around.
