This is my entry for the mission to Minerva competition that was run by Kitbash3D. The brief was to build a settlement on a distant planet in the Minerva galaxy. It was my first time experimenting with kitbashing, which is the process of taking ready-made 3D assets and adding them to a scene to create an image. This is something that I would not have tried if it hadn’t been for the enticing prize money! Although I sadly did not win, I did discover that kitbashing is a great way of quickly building up an idea and an image for storytelling that I will definitely be using again in the future. I can highly recommend entering competitions to anyone, if not just for thrill of potential winning big, then for inspiration and chance of trying a different approach to you chosen medium. Minerva could have future settlements, but competitions could hold the key to future inspiration.
